Project Manager/Manufacturing Machine Technologist – Architectural Panels Systems

Experience
- Must have 5+ years of Project Management in Architectural Metal Panels.
- The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the bidding, project management and collaboration between owners, GCs, shop, admin, and the field.
- Must keep track of the budget, hours, equipment, and material and labour costs. Must be able to read blueprints, shop drawings, and specs, and have a firm understanding of construction and architectural structure.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary job duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Oversee and manage projects from start to finish.
- Must have extensive knowledge in Building Envelope.
- Prepare material take-off lists, including Panel materials, sub-girt systems, insulation, membrane, fastening etc.
- Order all materials and follow up on delivery lead times on a daily/weekly basis.
- Attend pre-bid construction meetings.
- Conduct site and shop inspections, and oversee quality control.
- Prepare all submittals, including shop drawings, engineering, product data sheets, and physical samples.
- Check all “approved” submittals for accuracy.
- Organize and track all project documentation.
- Help establish clear parameters in project planning, budgeting and identification of resources needed.
- Ensure projects are being executed within budget.
- Manage all project change orders.
- Prepare/assist with monthly billing.
- Maintain good working relationships with customers/general contractors, architects, and co-workers.
- Must be a team leader, with the ability to train and communicate effectively with co-workers, clients, vendors, and peers.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and execute tasks without supervision.
- Strong organizational skills. Must pay attention to the details and be self-motivated.
- Assist in the design of new products and components, using CAD software.
- Develop 3D models for production.
- Perform simulations and tests to ensure product functionality.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager to create and refine product designs.
- Troubleshoot issues with production processes.
- Ensure that products meet quality and safety standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Calculate required square footage, linear footage, hardware, and labour needed to deliver specifications.
- Determine cost associated with all materials through established costings offered by the company.
- Capability of offering solutions to technical needs and options to satisfy project specification requirements.
- Capability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Ability to qualify unknown cost drivers and mitigate company cost risk.
- Collaborate with other Project Managers, Drafting and Engineering in understanding quoted design intent and product ordering & delivery.
- Experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist. A diploma will be an asset.
- Experience in manufacturing processes and product design
- Proficient in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Inventor
- Knowledge of metal fabrication
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with quality and safety standards
